24493 McCommon (provisional designation: 2000 YT131) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered by the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research project in Socorro, New Mexico, on December 30, 2000. It is named after Steven Richard McCommon, an American high school student whose environmental sciences project won second place at the 2008 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
